Composition in Photography

Composition is the way you display your subject in your photo. It also means 'putting together', as in the way you arrange things to fix the photo, or how elements are positioned in a frame. Lines, shape, color, texture and depth are a few of the types of elements of design. When taking pictures, you should pay attention to the lines and shapes in your environment. There are no set lines that exist in nature, but things like the edges of a sidewalk or telephone poles or tree trunks serve the same purpose. The way they frame the main object can dramatically change the focus point and the picture as a whole. Color can affect your photo. Different colors sybmbolize different things (red can mean danger, white can mean purity etc.), so you should take that into consideration.
